| How are the products packed and shipped? |
| |
Our products are vacuum-packed and frozen, and shipped in styrofoam containers with gel ice packs, enabling them to withstand up to 48 hours of unrefrigerated transit time. |
| How long will the meat last in my freezer? |
| |
Kept in its packaging and in the freezer, your meat should last up to 3 months. Remember to date your package prior to placing it in the freezer. |
| How long will the meat last in my fridge? |
| |
We recommend placing the meat in your fridge only to allow it to thaw in preparation for your intended cooking of the meat within 24 hours of placing it in the fridge. |
| How should I store leftovers? |
| |
Leftover cooked meat may be refrigerated for up to 2 days. We do not advise the storage of defrosted uncooked leftover meats. |
| How should I thaw (defrost) the meat? |
| |
We recommend all meat to be at or slightly below room temperature before cooking. Place the frozen package on the lower rack of your refrigerator 12 hours prior to intended cooking time. Check on defrosting process 2 hours prior to intended cooking time and leave on kitchen counter at room temperature if defrosting progress is slow. We do not recommend defrosting meat in a microwave oven given the typically uneven results. If you need to defrost your meats in an expedited manner, submerge into warm water inside their original packaging. |
| My package has been delayed. Will the meat be safe to eat? |
| |
Our products are packed to withstand up to 48 hours of unrefrigerated transit time. In the case your package arrives outside of the 48 hour timeframe, please check each pack and decide as follows: If the pack is still frozen, place in your freezer or refrigerator depending on your intended time of cooking. If the pack is not frozen but still cool to the touch, place it in the refrigerator and cook within 24 hours. If the pack is no longer cool to the touch, please contact us at 212-878-6301. |
| Should I place my meats in the freezer upon receipt? |
| |
Unless you intend to consume the meat within 24 hours of receipt, place the packages in the freezer and following the thawing instructions below prior to your intended time of cooking. If you intend to consume the meat within 24 hours, place in the refrigerator to allow it to slowly thaw until time of cooking. |
